Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Curated Connections, a service operated by RespondIQ LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Users between 13 and 17 should have the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may not transfer, sell, or share your account with others. Each account is for a single individual's personal use.
Your content
You own your content. Journal entries, reflections, photos, recordings, and anything you contribute to the platform belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your personal content.
By uploading or submitting content, you grant RespondIQ LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and deliver that content within the service solely on your behalf. This license exists only to operate the service and does not extend to selling, licensing, or using your content for any other purpose.
You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
Subscriptions and billing
Curated Connections offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. Current pricing is displayed at joincuratedconnections.com and within the app at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through the customer billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access through that date. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial subscription periods.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with reasonable advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect and will have the option to cancel.
Storage
Each paid subscription tier includes a storage allowance for photos, recordings, and other media. Your included allowance is displayed in your account settings.
If your usage exceeds your tier's included allowance, additional storage is available at the per-GB monthly rate shown in your account settings. You will receive advance notice before any overage charges are applied, with the opportunity to manage your storage before charges occur.
You can view your usage, delete files, and manage your content at any time from your account settings.
Intellectual property
All content provided by Curated Connections — including card prompts, quiz content, games, designs, and software — is the property of RespondIQ LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the service is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RespondIQ LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Dispute resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service will be resolved through binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court if eligible. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us — especially because this platform holds personal reflections, family memories, and meaningful content. This policy explains clearly what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
Account information — your name, email address, and encrypted password when you create an account
Content you create — journal entries, saved cards, voice recordings, photos, and any other content you add to the platform
Usage data — which features you use, sessions played, and general app activity, used to improve the service
Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never store your card number or full payment details on our servers
Device and technical data — device type, operating system version, and browser type, used for technical support and compatibility
What we do not do with your information
We do not sell your personal data to third parties
We do not use your personal content or journal entries for advertising
We do not share your content with third parties without your explicit consent
We do not use your personal content to train AI or machine learning models without your separate, informed consent
We do not send marketing communications without your opt-in

Third-party services

Circles and shared content
When you choose to share a reflection or moment to a Circle, that content becomes visible to the members of that Circle. Sharing is always a deliberate choice — nothing is shared automatically. You can remove content you have shared from a Circle at any time.
Data retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, content may be retained for a grace period before deletion. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
Your rights
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you

Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data
Portability — download your journal entries and created content
Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time

Children's privacy
Curated Connections is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe under PCI-DSS compliance standards. No security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
